On June 11, 2026, NASA’s Curiosity Mars rover took a photograph of a sand-capped butte approximately 20 feet (6 meters) tall. The image was obtained using the rover's Mast Camera (Mastcam) during the 4,923rd Martian day (sol) of the mission. The butte, nicknamed "Miraflores," remains after the surrounding rock eroded and formed a broader valley over time.
