This Is Not A Dictionary.
The IAQ Lexicon is a living map of ideas discovered inside questions.
Every IAQ article can introduce a new concept, reveal a hidden mechanism, or give a name to a pattern that did not have one before. When an idea becomes strong enough, it may enter the Lexicon.
But not every candidate appears here. There are far more Lexicon candidates living inside IAQ articles than the concepts currently published on this page. The Lexicon grows selectively, as ideas connect, deepen, and begin to form families of their own.

Frame-Dependent Current Blindness
When everything nearby moves together, powerful motion can resemble stillness.
The failure to perceive strong environmental motion when the observer lacks a stable reference and most visible elements move together within the same flow. Frame-Dependent Current Blindness explains why powerful movement can appear calm or stationary from one viewpoint even while it steadily displaces bodies, objects, crowds, information, or resources relative to an external destination.

- Passengers inside a smoothly moving vehicle underestimating speed until they compare themselves with the ground

Origin
Developed through the IAQ Swimming, Water Sports, and Aquatic Perception series. It is placed beneath Anomaly Recognition because detecting the movement requires comparison with a stable external reference that the immediate visual field may not provide. It differs from Reference Point Migration and Shifting Baseline Syndrome, which describe standards changing gradually over time. Frame-Dependent Current Blindness concerns motion that is already occurring but remains perceptually hidden because observer, foreground, or surrounding signals share the same moving frame.
