Resistance is not always the enemy of progress.
A traveler reaches the hotel exit.
The door does not open instantly. They pause, look up, and notice a small sign:

We usually think friction is something designers should eliminate. Long forms, complicated checkouts, and unnecessary clicks certainly deserve improvement.
But some small frictions exist for a different reason. They slow people down just enough to prevent expensive mistakes made on autopilot.
